Education: Graduated from Olympic High School in Bremerton, Washington, in 1995. He earned bachelor’s degrees in public policy and political science from Central Washington University in 2010. He holds a master’s degree in educational leadership and policy from the University of Texas-Arlington.
Work experience: Worked briefly as a mechanic and passed the U.S. Department of State civil service exam before becoming a teacher. He taught math, economics, government and history at high schools and community colleges in Texas for about 10 years. Since arriving in Liberty Lake five years ago he has taught Advanced Placement history at Cheney High School.
Political experience: First run for office.
Family: Married to wife Nicole Hamblet. Has two children.
