BNSF train derailment south of Cocolalla Lake
A BNSF train carrying corn derailed Monday morning in Bonner County, south of Sandpoint. The crash was reported just after 6 a.m., south of Cocolalla Lake, according to Bonner County dispatch. The crash did not cause a fire. About 25 of the 110 cars derailed, said Gus Melonas, BNSF spokesman. Five cars tipped on their side. All cars on the train were filled with corn. No one was injured in the incident.
