Spokane put out the welcome mat for Vice President Alben W. Barkley who arrived by plane from the west coast for a banquet and rally. A public address at the armory featured his visit to the capital of the Inland Empire. At the airport with the vice president were Senator Warren G. Magnuson (right) and Mrs. Maude Hobbs, Seattle, state chairman of the Jefferson-Jackson day banquet committee.
