MMIW Bike/Run USA 2021 visits Desmet, Idaho

MMIW Bike/Run USA 2021 was founded by Duane Garvais-Lawrence, and is visiting Native American reservations across the county to honor the growing list of indigenous women and children who have gone missing or were murdered.

Duane Garvais-Lawrence with his daughter Daisy Marie Garvais install staffs decorated with sacred eagle feathers on the back of his RV that displays a growing list of missing or murdered indigenous women. Garvais-Lawrence, who is a descendent of the Colville and Assiniboine tribe, is running and biking on Native reservations and lands across the United States to raise awareness funds for missing and murdered indigenous women and children. On Tuesday he and other runners and bikers traversed Highway 95 from Desmet to Fighting Creek on the Coeur d’Alene reservation.
