SRD Music Fest

An outdoor concert series kicks off on Friday with headliners Peter Rivera and Too Slim and the Taildraggers. It's likely the first such event in well over a year. It's happening in the Indian Trail neighborhood, and is a benefit for Rivera's son, who is fighting cancer.

Solo artist Schuyler Dornbrier plays the first set at the SRD Music Festival at a rural home on North Indian Trail Road Friday, May 14, 2021. It was the start of the homegrown festival and people were still arriving and he played on a secondary stage while the main stage was still being set up for the weekend festival, which will serve as a fundraiser for a few different causes, including the cancer fund for Jesse Hoorelbeke, son of rock singer Peter Rivera.
