What happened: .
Aggie Bennett hit a two-run single in the bottom of the fourth to take the lead and the Eagles (15-7) defeated the Indians (11-9) in the District 7 1A third-place game at Chewelah HS. Saelor Dvorak had a squeeze bunt to get the third run for the Eagles. For Lakeside, Shelby Claassen pitched four innings with nine strikeouts and one hit, and closer Megan Isayev pitched three no-hit innings. Rylee Merritt had the only hit for the Indians. Lakeside took third place and will play at Okanogan next Saturday in a loser-out game, with the winner going to state. Colville was eliminated.
