What happened: Brody Santman gave up two hits, no runs, striking out 10 and the second-seeded Spartans (23-4) defeated the visiting fifth-seeded Bullpups (23-5) to win the State 4A championship at Funko Field in Everett on Saturday.
Bryce Carl went 3 for 3 with two doubles, four RBIs and one run for Sumner. Jack Pierce led G-Prep with two hits.
This was the first time for G-Prep to play in the state championship.
