What happened: Kyla Thurston struck out 11 batters in five innings, knocked in three runs on two triples and the visiting Bulldogs (15-10) defeated the Tigers (19-5) in five innings of a District 6 1B game in the fifth-place bracket at Franklin Park Fields on Saturday. Ember Berndt led Republic with two doubles, two RBIs and one run. Dayton faces DeSales for fifth place at 4:00 p.m. Both teams will advance to State. Republic faces Colton in a winner to state/loser-out game at 4:00 p.m.

What happened: Adalynn Kerr went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs and the Wildcats (18-5) eliminated the Tigers (19-6) in the District 6 1B seventh-place game at Franklin Park on Saturday. Kiya Soza struck out nine in a complete game and Isabel Druffel scored twice and knocked in two from the No. 9 hole for Colton. Alexandria Henderickson and Kayleigh Somday had three hits apiece for Republic.
