Virtual Northwest Passage Forum - WDFW Director Kelly Susewind

April 16, 2020, noon

The Spokesman-Review Outdoors Editor Eli Francovich talks with Kelly Susewind, the director of the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife in a Northwest Passages Virtual Forum. Fishing and hunting enthusiasts are angry about the decision to close fishing and hunting during the COVID-19 shutdown across the state, especially for those people who live in proximity to the forests and lakes where they recreate. Susewind said that surveys show well over half of the sports enthusiasts travel to other regions or from different states to participate in the sports and the desire to keep people from traveling was the impetus behind the restrictions.
