Your Outdoors Photos: November 2018

The Inland Northwest is full of flora, fauna, waters, scenery and active people out to savor it all. Please visit this gallery regularly to share photos of your wild experiences, learning moments, hot discoveries, favorite trips. Help us build a visual tour of what's so great about the outdoors in this region through all four seasons. This photo gallery will be an inspiration to some people. To others it will be a reminder of why we love to live here -- and get outside as much as possible.

Elk sighting in Marshall. We've had moose, deer and turkeys but this was the first elk sighting. A herd of about six were grazing in a hay field mid-November.

Nov. 14, 2018. I was at the Steptoe Battlefield site and noticed that the water had frozen on the little waterfall in the creek below. Thought it would make a great picture. Frozen!

Here is a beautiful Blue Jay common in the East but in this area a rare treat to see I was lucky to find this one near Steptoe butte. Taken Nov. 17 2018.

A Rough-legged hawk they come down from the North and will stay with us until spring I know winter is on the way when I first see them. Taken November 11 18.

This photo was taken by my husband, Randy Gardner, while we were riding the "Trail of the Coeur d' Alenes" In the summer of 2017. It was snapped at the Gray's Meadow area between Medimont and Harrison. This is our favorite place to bicycle and we always see lots of wildlife there. Interestingly, there is a children't book called "Heron and Turtle" about two friends who go on all kinds of adventures together.
