  • Lots of activity at Lake Coeur d'alene on Tuesday, December 10. This juvenile first year eagle used this method of catching dead kokanee floating near the banks of the lake. He would wade in and drag them to the shore, walking carrying the fish, balancing with his wings. Sometimes he would eat them on the bank or fly away to a tree, always coming back to the same location for his successful way of fishing!

  • A small pond sits off the road at 61st and Palouse Hwy. I saw this pair of ducks playing and flying in and out of the pond. Snow was on the ground and there was light fog blowing through. At times rays of sun would shine through the fog lift showing off the spectacular colors of these amazing birds.
