Your Outdoors Photos: November 2019

The Inland Northwest is full of flora, fauna, waters, scenery and active people out to savor it all. Please visit this gallery regularly to share photos of your wild experiences, learning moments, hot discoveries, favorite trips. Help us build a visual tour of what's so great about the outdoors in this region through all four seasons. This photo gallery will be an inspiration to some people. To others it will be a reminder of why we love to live here -- and get outside as much as possible.

  • On 11-27-19 I was on the Palouse Highway just south of Baltimore Rd. I found this young eagle having an early Thanksgiving feast. He was sharing his bounty with the local magpies and other carrion that came and went. The wind was howling and the eagle was disinterested in me and car traffic around him. The deer was a possible casualty of a road incident as it was only about 50 yards from the roadway.

  • There was much activity at James Slavin Conservation area ponds with the arrival of the tundra swans, and many geese and ducks. It was a noisy, bustling place today with much honking and quacking as birds flew in and landed.

  • Neighborhood Moose taken November 4, 2019 Four Lakes A mother and her two calves settled into the neighborhood for a few days, and early in the morning of November 4, on my way to get the newspaper at the end of the drive, she came out of the trees to greet me (gasp!). I asked her to wait so I could go back and get my camera, and she obliged.
