  • In February, 2020 I took a ride to Hawk Creek Campground northwest of Davenport to see if I could find the American Dippers that call the little pond at the end of the waterfall their home. Last year I went several times to no avail so I figured I would start out early this year to find it. And find it I did because I found the male and female collecting grasses along the creek to make their nest behind the waterfall. I had found my nemesis. Nemesis Found

  • On March 24th, 2020 I took a ride in the country north of Cheney and to my surprise I saw a cow giving birth. I was able to watch the entire process from the breaking of the water to the birth to the calf trying to stand to graphel falling from the sky. Since I never saw the birth of a calf, I was so excited to see the entire process.

  • Since social distancing was the norm, I decided to take a ride to Sprague Lake the second week of March, 2020, but instead, once I got to Sprague I drove south on route 23 to see if anything was in the pools of water along the road. I found a whole flock of tundra swans so I pulled to the side of the road and took pictures. After awhile the birds were spooked and took flight.

  • Brown Creeper March 8, 2020, Four Lakes We'd been seeing this little (about 5 inches long) songbird visiting a tree and quickly flitting around poking into the bark. They're extremely quick and well camouflaged, so I was fortunate to get a profile shot.
