Your Outdoor Photos: April 2023

The Inland Northwest is full of flora, fauna, waters, scenery and active people out to savor it all. Please visit this gallery regularly to share photos of your wild experiences, learning moments, hot discoveries, favorite trips. Help us build a visual tour of what's so great about the outdoors in this region through all four seasons. This photo gallery will be an inspiration to some people. To others it will be a reminder of why we love to live here – and get outside as much as possible.

NOTE: Before photos show up in the reader photo gallery, they must be approved by an editor. If yours does not show up immediately, fear not. The only likely delay is that an editor has not had a chance to approve new photo submissions yet. Thanks for participating!

  • Early morning Lake Fernan, ID: Can you find all five white tail deer in this pic? I went to Fernan Saturday morning early and these five ladies posed for me along the lake drive. I captured the image of three of them but the other two got out of sight--but they are still there.

  • Blue birds on the waterville plateau

  • For the past three to four years, a Canada goose chooses this mound of grasses surrounded by low lying water left from winter snows in a field to make her nest. If anyone appears to be watching this nesting goose or getting too close, she ducks her head and blends in as well as she can. April 12th, Pend Oreille County

  • Hang in there! I wouldn't have returned if it wasn't spring. After a nice long warm winter in Central or South America the osprey of Hauser return to the day each year. What a welcome sight!

  • This Doe Mule Deer showed up in our neighbors yard on Monday the 27 of March. She didn't seemed to concerned about me photographing her as there is a big wrought iron fence between the yards. Taken in the Garland District. Who needs to go out in the woods for wildlife?
