Your Outdoor Photos: March 2026

The Inland Northwest is full of flora, fauna, waters, scenery and active people out to savor it all. Please visit this gallery regularly to share photos of your wild experiences, learning moments, hot discoveries, favorite trips. Help us build a visual tour of what's so great about the outdoors in this region through all four seasons. This photo gallery will be an inspiration to some people. To others it will be a reminder of why we love to live here – and get outside as much as possible.

  • This red-winged blackbird was calling at sunrise on March 1, 2026 when it was 20 degrees at Turnbull NWR. It was cold enough that you can see his breath.

  • This goose was in flight over the Saltese lowlands marsh on March 3rd 2026. It almost looks startled that I was taking its photo but I am sure it was just vocalizing a honk.

  • This Pileated woodpecker is our largest Woodpecker can be very vocal forages on ants and grubs this one is a male red mustache and it's red crest goes all the way down to it's bill. Found near the Painted Rocks February 28 2026 .
