Bruce and I have an eagles nest about 200 yards from our back deck and thought since you are a photographer you might like to see what he got a shot of last night. She has been nesting for quite a few weeks. We think the baby is probably a week or so old. I can't believe how fast they grow.

I call this one " Twin Falls," with one liquid and one celestial. The Milky Way appears to be spilling into the lights of Hanford while Palouse Falls thunders into the canyon. I learned something new on this trip - when you lay down on the ground next to the falls you can feel the vibration from the force of the water smashing into the riverbed below. A small sustained earthquake in the middle of the Palouse. This is two photos taken one right after the other using different techniques for each shot, and then combined in post-processing.

I snuck up to the Skagit Valley this weekend after doing an art show in Seattle. It's bursting with life right now. Tulips, daffodils, swans, and thousands upon thousands of snow geese. The geese were a sight to behold, but what really left an impression on me was how noisy they are and how much they smell. The flocks are like roving CAFOs, stinky swarms of life.
