BIRDSEED THIEF! The snow has made it much harder for the wild animals to find food on the West Plains. I looked out the window on President's Day and saw this moose helping herself to birdseed!

Pend Oreille Wildlife Refuge is bursting with tamarack color this time of year. The old homesteads and barns on the refuge add to the adventure. It is a nice day hike or overnight camp trip with a few nice campgrounds for hikers, photographers, hunters, and equestrians. Taken near Colville at the refuge on October 22.
