Spokane woman who provided alibi in murder case profiled in ‘Serial’ podcast dismayed by Supreme Court ruling

On Monday, the Supreme Court rejected a new trial for Adnan Syed, the Maryland man convicted in the strangling death of a classmate – a case that drew national attention when it became the subject of the “Serial” podcast, and expanded to larger issues of criminal justice reform. The smoking gun in the This American Life podcast was the alibi provided by Asia McClain Chapman, a Spokane resident.
