Mason Peatling, Eagles keep Vandals reeling

Eastern Washington forward Mason Peatling made one thing clear following the Eagles’ 82-57 rout of Idaho on Monday: He isn’t fond of the Vandals. “We’ve got a little bit of a rivalry with them, and it’s natural to hate them. I don’t have any shame in saying that,” said Peatling, whose team won its seventh straight game at Reese Court. He played like it.

Idaho women defeat Eastern Washington when officials reverse call

When Mikayla Ferenz banked in the game-winning bucket Monday at Reese Court, Idaho’s recording-breaking guard smacked her hands together in frustration. She thought it didn’t count. But in the end, the officials ruled Ferenz’s shot counted, giving Idaho a 75-74 win in Cheney in front of a shell-shocked crowd of 1,600.
