Two Die In Accident North Of Colfax
Two Rosalia men died in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 195 Friday night, Washington state troopers said.
Harold Cochran was driving north on 195, about four miles north of Colfax, when his 1976 Honda Civic two-door collided with a 1993 Nissan Pathfinder headed south. The accident happened in the southbound lane at about 7:20 p.m.
Cochran, 30, suffered massive neck and internal injuries and died at the scene, troopers said.
His passenger, brother Darren Cochran, 25, was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center, where he died of internal injuries at about 9:50 p.m.
Scott J. Carter, 27, of Spokane, was driving the Nissan Pathfinder, troopers said.
Carter was taken to Deaconness Medical Center, treated for a facial laceration and released Friday night.
His passenger, wife Michelle J. Carter, 25, suffered massive chest injuries and was taken to Deaconness Medical Center. She remained in serious condition Saturday.
The Carters were wearing seat belts, troopers said.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
