Man Falls Out Of Boat, Missing

A 47-year-old Douglas County man is missing and presumed drowned in the Columbia River after a fishing trip, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department.

Raymond A. Stanley fell off a boat Saturday evening between the Chief Joseph and Azwell Wells dams, near Bridgeport, about 40 feet from shore, according to the sheriff’s department.

One of Stanley’s two companions tried to rescue Stanley, but couldn’t find him. The last boat looking for Stanley returned to shore at 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

His body hasn’t been recovered. , DataTimes
