Former Rajneeshees Sentenced In Plot

From Staff And Wire Reports

Two one-time followers of guru Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh were sentenced Friday to five years in prison for conspiring to murder the U.S. attorney for Oregon.

Sally-Anne Croft and Susan Hagan were found guilty in July of conspiring in 1985 to kill Charles Turner, who was investigating allegations that members of their commune were using sham marriages to skirt immigration laws. The plot was never carried out.

The testimony directly linking Croft and Hagan to the plot came from five former Rajneeshees who cut deals with the government and who admitted they had lied in the past.
