Notable
The Eagles have won three straight and seven of their
last eight games. Of those opponents, though, only Dallas, to whom they lost, has a winning record.
Hawks snapper Trey Junkin made his 1,000th career long snap without a misfire.
The last time these teams met, Roger Ruzek kicked a 44-yard field goal as time expired in overtime to give the Eagles a 20-17 win in the longest game in Seahawks history.
Hawks back Chris Warren went over the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the fourth straight year. He has already set a personal best with 10 rushing TDs this season.
Seahawks rookie Joey Galloway was named AFC special teams player of November. Galloway is the only player in the NFL to have scored touchdowns rushing, receiving and via punt return. His seven touchdown plays have averaged an incredible 54.9 yards.
Analysis
So much in this league depends on emotion and
motivation. And the Eagles are motivated by their shot at the playoffs.
That would seem to give Philadelphia an enormous edge.
The Seahawks, however, must be reeling with embarrassment after last week’s loss to the Jets. Coach Dennis Erickson said this is the time the team can show what it’s made of.
A good effort against the Eagles will mean there’s hope for the future.
Another stinker like last week, though, would show that the team is simply playing out the string.
