The Slice Unexpected Holiday Gift Is A Selfless Act

Linda Peterson was at a South Hill gas station when $280 in cash fell out of her pocket.

She drove off. But another customer saw what happened, turned in the money and then got in his car and caught up with Peterson. She then returned to the station and reclaimed her money. “There are good people in the world,” she said.

Overheard in a Spokane restaurant (man offering his assessment of Bangkok, Thailand): “It’s nice. Lots of things to buy.”

Seasonal thought for the day: There are fruitcakes and then there are fruitcakes.

Tube pick: According to the neverwrong TV Week, 1972’s “The Heartbreak Kid” is on KXLY Extra tonight at 8 o’clock. Charles Grodin, as a just-married guy who dumps his bride to pursue a college girl (Cybill Shepherd), will make you squirm.
