Knife-Wielding Man Takes Cash From Store

From Staff Reports

A man with a knife robbed a clerk at a north Spokane convenience store early Tuesday.

The robber picked out some potato chips and dip at the Zip-Trip, 1023 W. Wellesley, about 4:30 a.m. He then asked the clerk for some cigarettes and two lighters.

While the clerk totaled up the bill, the man took out a knife and demanded cash, police said.

He escaped with some money and left in a silver four-door car. Police wouldn’t say how much cash was stolen.

He was described as black, about 40, 6-foot-2 with a goatee and short hair. He wore a dark waist-length jacket and blue jeans.

Police believe the same man was a customer at another Zip-Trip at Perry and Illinois earlier, although no robbery occurred. , DataTimes
