Notre Dame Suspends Kinder

Randy Kinder said Thursday an “overindulgence of alcohol” and “immature behavior” led to his suspension from the Notre Dame football team.

Notre Dame announced Tuesday that Kinder, the Irish’s leading rusher this season, was suspended from the Orange Bowl against Florida State and from spring practice but would not say why he was being punished.

All-conference safety Brandon Sanders and two other University of Arizona football players have been cleared as suspects in two separate shooting incidents, police said.

Sanders and cornerback Derrick Stewart had been accused in a nightclub shooting two days after receiver Jeff Nadeau was identified as a suspect in an assault at a restaurant parking lot.
