Slow Dollar Sinks

The dollar fell against the German mark and Japanese yen in thin trading Monday as traders waited to see whether U.S. and European central banks would lower interest trades soon.

Trading stayed in a tight range against both the mark and yen, with the dollar moving just three-quarters of a pfennig and roughly half a yen. The greenback finished mixed against other major currencies.
