Thompson Tosses In 30 As Nic Rolls To Victory

Troy Thompson scored 17 of his 30 points in the second half as the North Idaho College downed Wenatchee Valley 98-83 in a non-conference men’s basketball game in Coeur d’Alene on Wednesday.

Cardinals (13-1) downed the Knights.

Steve Helm made 6 of 7 shots from the field and 11 of 12 attempts from the foul line for NIC.

The Cardinals’ switch to a man-to-man defense in the second half paid off as NIC pulled away from a one-point lead at halftime.

Kris Hampton scored 19 points as the Community Colleges of Spokane withstood a late scare to defeat Everett in Spokane.

One night after falling to the Trojans 63-56 in Everett, the Sasquatch (63-56) appeared to once again be in danger of self-destructing.

Everett rallied from a 46-39 halftime deficit to pull within 64-62.

CCS responded with a six-point scoring burst, paced by point guard Damian Schug.

Schug finished the game with nine points and 10 assists for the Sasquatch.

Darrell Walker had 20 points for Post Falls, but the Trojans shot just 8-32 from 3-point range.
