Man Shoots His Foot While Examining Gun

A 26-year-old Spokane man told police he shot himself in the foot Saturday night when he was trying to buy a handgun from another person.

The man said he was in an alley near Alberta and Northwest Boulevard and was attempting to open the gun’s cylinder when the weapon discharged. He said the seller grabbed the gun and ran from the area.

The victim, treated at Holy Family Hospital, was not arrested. Police did not identify him.
