Pump Some Iron This Winter

The winter schedule for the Northeast Youth Center is out, and while most of the activities are for pre-teens, there are a few things of note for older teens.

For the physical sort, there are open weight rooms from 3:45 to 5:30 p.m. every weekday but Wednesday. It’s also open from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. You’ve got to be older than 12 and you need to sign an agreement before using the equipment.

There’s also a karate class, instruction on baby-sitting skills (ages 11 to 14) and a youth employment service for ages 14 to 21. On Friday nights, there are drop-in activities for ages 12 to 16. They’re usually free.

The center is located at N4001 Cook.

Here’s a resolution: We’re four days into 1995 and you haven’t called Our Generation yet? If you’re a teenager who would like to get involved in writing for Our Generation, it’s not too late. We’re always looking for teens interested in music, books and teen issues.

If you don’t want to write but you have suggestions on how we could make Our Generation better, we’d like to hear from you, too. Call 459-5456.
