Bromley Appointed Rathdrum Mayor
The Rathdrum City Council on Wednesday chose veteran councilwoman Tawnda Bromley as the city’s acting mayor.
She replaces former Mayor John Heitstuman, who was voted out of office in November.
Two months before that vote, Heitstuman recommended that the council appoint Bromley to a council seat vacated by Jack Hansston. Bromley served on the council from 1988 to 1991.
Bromley will serve as mayor until November, when she could face re-election.
The council still has one vacancy. Councilman Chuck Holt said he expects the group to appoint a new member at the next meeting.
