U Of I Seniors Awarded Certificates Of Excellence

Several Idaho seniors attending the University of Idaho were recently awarded Certificates of Excellence.

The students were selected by a committee of UI faculty and alumni.

Area students, their cities, majors and parents are:

Coeur d’Alene: Lori Halverson, a special and elementary education major, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Schwandt.

Genesee: Cindy Johnson, child development and elementary education, daughter of Charlotte Johnson.

Hope: Britt Heisel, political science major, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Heisel.

Juliaetta: Lisa Gravelle, zoology, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gravelle.

Lewiston: Eric Aston, chemical engineering, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Aston; Susan Fulton, special and elementary education, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fulton; Jason Schuknecht, political science, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Schuknecht.

Moscow: Alane Blanchford, information systems, daughter of Roger Blanchard; Joseph Harrington, metallurgical and chemical engineering, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Harrington; Thandiwe Mugedeza, architecture; Deborah Rice, microbiology, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randal Rice; Julie Stafford, business education; Christopher Wolking, accounting; and Sandra Wright, English literature, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. Gerald Wright.

Orofino: Katie Eichert, architect and interior design, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Eichert.

St. Maries: Paul Katovich, economics, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Katovich.

Sandpoint: John Finney, economics, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Finney.

Seaman Apprentice Catherine Whitman, Garfield, Wash., recently graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Training Center in Cape May, N.J.

After completing recruit training, Whitman was advanced to her present rank and assigned to the Coast Guard Station in Bellingham.

Whitman, a 1993 graduate of Liberty High School in Spangle, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alan J. Whitman.
