Disheveled Robber Hits 7-Eleven Store

From Staff And Wire Reports

A sloppy-looking man robbed a 7-Eleven store Wednesday in west Spokane, police said.

The man went into the store at Fourth Avenue and Sunset Boulevard about 4 p.m. and picked up a can of beer. He searched through his pockets as the clerk rang up the sale but then said he didn’t have enough money.

The robber took a step toward the door and spun around and hit several keys on the cash register, police said. He then ordered the clerk to open the drawer and threatened to hit her. He continued pounding on the keys and the drawer opened.

Police said he grabbed some bills and walked out of the store. He was in his late 30’s, wearing a plaid jacket or shirt and was disheveled in appearance, the clerk told police.
