The following Spokane residents were named to the University of Portland Dean’s list for the fall semester:

Arts and sciences: Jeffrey Bolka, Jennifer Reese and Elizabeth Riherd, all freshman.

Engineering: Nicole Brincken, freshman.

Nursing: Gretchen Van Hout, senior.

Kyla Meredith, a Seattle Pacific University student from Spokane, recently spent her winter break working with Oasis, a teen outreach organization in downtown Los Angeles.

As a member of SPRINT (Seattle Pacific University Reach Out International), Meredith helped with a Christmas party for 1,500 children. The group is committed to world awareness and cross-cultural ministry through short-term missions. Students raise their own money for airfare, training, room and board and team expenses.
