Ray Allen scored a career-high 31 points and No. 2 Connecticut solved Syracuse’s 2-3 zone in the second half and pulled away to an 86-75 home men’s basketball victory Monday night over the sixth-ranked Orangemen in a matchup of teams with 14-game winning streaks.

The Huskies (8-0 Big East, 15-0) are the nation’s only unbeaten Division I team and have the country’s longest winning streak as well. They also alone in first in the Big East as the Orangemen (7-1, 14-2) lost for the first time since their opener.

Jerold Haase hit five of his first six 3-pointers as the Jayhawks (4-1 Big Eight, 14-2) took charge early and rolled past the Cornhuskers (1-2, 14-4) at Lawrence, Kan.
