Those Crazy Brit-Royals Duke It Out With Class

Compiled By Staff Writer Dan Web

Having trouble dumping your spouse? Console yourself with the knowledge that you aren’t a Brit-royal.

Specifically, give thanks that you aren’t the Duchess of York. Seems randy Fergie has moved back in with her estranged husband, Prince Andrew.

It’s only temporary, though, according to The Sun. The tabloid reports that Fergie and her two daughters are waiting for their new eightbedroom house to be finished.

“She’s very aware that Andrew wants her back on a more permanent basis,” The Sun quotes a friend of the family as saying, “but she’s told him that won’t happen,”

While on the royal premises, Fergie and Andy will sleep in separate bedrooms.

Loose talk

Comedy actress Janeane Garofalo on her decision to join the “Saturday Night Live” cast: “Some people think I’ve made a bad decision, but I consider it NOT selling out. What am I supposed to do? Wait for scripts that Rosie O’Donnell turned down while breathing in smog?”

His jumps were anything but jejune

Mikhail Baryshnikov turns 47 today.

Bet their nights together weren’t much fun

John Singleton made his movie, but he didn’t make any headway with his girlfriend. “I just felt like he should have just rubbed my head after every take - like, ‘Are you OK?’ - which he didn’t do,” says actress/ model Tyra Banks, who made her acting debut in Singleton’s film “Higher Learning.” “But he says he felt that would have been showing too much favoritism, and he didn’t want to look like a weakling in front of everybody.”

They didn’t want Rosie O’Donnell either

What was the No. 1 reason why Sarah Jessica Parker was so thrilled to snare a lead role in the romantic comedy “Miami Rhapsody”? “I was so thankful that they didn’t go to Meg Ryan,” she said.

And everyone’s anxious to examine the droppings

The news: Steven Spielberg, Kate Capshaw and their three children plan to transfer their abode from Los Angeles to New York next year. The reason: Fires, rains, riots, earthquakes, lack of diversity. The quote: “I think Los Angeles is kind of a one-horse town - because of the entertainment industry,” says Capshaw, “and their daddy’s riding on a pretty damn big horse.”

Even so, there’s no reason to look back with anger

British playwright John Osborne, who died last month, once said, “I have been blessed with God’s two greatest gifts - to be born British and heterosexual.” Seems he was only half right. Anthony Creighton, 72, revealed to the London Evening Standard that he and Osborne enjoyed a 10-year love affair between the second and third of Osborne’s five marriages.
