In the ever-ongoing quest for that 15 minutes of fame, more and more would-be celebs are choosing the ‘90s-era solution: Host your own talk show.

Among the more recent entrants:

Sissy Biggers: Host of the Lifetime network’s “Life From Queens” (as in New York).

Danny Bonaduce: The ex-“Partridge Family” member and radio DJ has a one-hour syndicated show titled, humbly enough, “Danny!”

Other talk-show-host hopefuls include Carnie Wilson from the pop group Wilson Phillips, one-time Cosby kid Tempestt Bledsoe and Melissa Rivers (daughter of Joan Rivers).

Closer to home, we would suggest a local version: Rotating hosts on the show “Hounding Steve Hasson.”

Loose talk

Ex-actor Fred Thompson, U.S. senator from Tennessee, on his new job (as passed on by Congressman Sonny Bono): “I’ve still got a lot to learn about Washington. Thursday, I accidentally spent some of my own money.”

He’s definitely NOT searching for Bobby Fischer

Boris Spassky turns 58 today.

Stupid move by a so-called network

Despite winning a Golden Globe award for her work on the acclaimed television show “My So-Called Life,” actress Claire Danes is not celebrating. Not when the show itself is being canceled. “It doesn’t make any sense to me,” she told the Associated Press. “I mean, I don’t know how the Nielsen system works and you know, I can’t help but take it a little personally because we work so hard on something.”

Yeah, like we couldn’t pick her out in the boys’ shower

Demi Moore continues her self-criticism in Rolling Stone magazine, on which cover she appears nude. “I’m kind of a plain Jane,” she says. “I don’t have a good smile, I have no waist and I’m never thin enough. I don’t feel that I am very feminine. I feel that I’m much more boyish.”

Even in seventh grade, he was summmmmo-kinnnn!

Jim Carrey credits an ex-teacher with helping him find success. “I had a seventh-grade teacher who told me if I didn’t fool around during class, I could have 15 minutes at the end of the day to do a comedy routine,” Carrey told Nickelodeon Magazine. “Instead of bugging everybody, I’d figure out my routine. It’s amazing how important that was.”

Give John a break; he’s still a groin boy

On Monday’s “Jenny Jones,” “Melrose Place” actress Traci Lords, a former porn star, talks about John Bobbitt’s rebuilt anatomy. “It’s not a pretty sight at all,” Lords says. “It looks like it was severed off, sewn back on, not the right way… It looks like a Franken-penis.”

Will you eat them here, or should we wrap them up?

So what does the title of the new film “Boys On the Side” mean? “I thought, ‘Boys On the Side,’ as in ‘Can I have the dressing on the side?”’ actress Mary Louise Parker told Out magazine. “I talked to the director and he didn’t know either. It’s kind of a sucky title.”
