Illegally-Parked Car Leads To Arrest

Spokane police arrested a man early Saturday who is wanted in California on a murder charge.

Leonard Carter, 25, is being held in the Spokane County Jail on a homicide warrant from Richmond, Calif., while awaiting a Monday court appearance.

Police said they were impounding an illegally-parked car along the 3800 block of East Sprague when Carter walked up and said the car was his, police spokesman Dick Cottam said.

Police checked Carter’s record and discovered the warrant.
