Unser Wins Pikes Peak

A shortened course expedited Robby Unser’s seventh victory in the Pikes Peak Hill Climb.

Unser, second in the last year’s supertruck division, returned to the top, edging 1994 winner Leonard Vahsholtz by under 3 seconds.

Unser, son of three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Bobby Unser, covered the 9-mile course in his Chevy pickup in 8 minutes, 58.17 seconds. Leonard finished in 9:00.87.
