Man’s Body Found Near Train Tracks

From Staff And Wire Reports

A man’s body was found Friday night alongside railroad tracks near the Spokane’s Intermodal Transportation Services station.

Spokane police tentatively identified the dead man but weren’t releasing his name pending notification of family, Sgt. Larry Adams said.

A railroad worker spotted the body in some weeds about 30 feet away from the tracks in the area of 5600 E. Alki and called police, who arrived about 8 p.m.

Adams said the man had suffered a mangled foot, probably from trying to get on or off a passing train. He may have died from the injuries he suffered, Adams said.

Police do not suspect foul play in the man’s death.
