The Slice Don’t Worry, The Check Is In The Coat

Spokane’s Carol Geist was going through some coats donated to charity when she encountered a $25 check written in 1988.

There was an address on it. So she mailed it back to Robert and Ruth Forman in Ohio. And they got to report that their daughter in Loon Lake, Lucy, had let go of the old coat with the uncashed birthday gift to the Forman’s grandson, John, still stashed in a pocket.

Slice answers: Janice Jones and Cathy Preston said road-construction flaggers get flipped off the most.

Colbert’s Jonathan Dixson nominated “Anyone driving with California license plates.”

Sandpoint’s Larry Smith wrote “After our drive along Montana’s scenic Bull River yesterday the answer has to be: The slow (55 mph) Idaho driver ahead of the Washington driver.”

Gerald Ray offered “Any driver that drives the speed limit and stops at red lights.”

Others mentioned truck drivers, members of the parking meter patrol and engineers at the controls of trains at Argonne and Trent.

No dittohead: Sam Wolkenhauer, who is about to turn 3, informed his mother that he had decided to refer to talk radio’s Rush as “Hush.”

Complete this sentence: The thing that makes Spokane different is….

Babes indeed: “I had pretty much decided that all the fuss about ‘Pocahontas’ and her sexy demeanor was silly,” wrote Bridget Johnson of Post Falls. “However, the other day, my not quite 2-year-old daughter pointed at the scantily-clad, dark haired model on the cover of the latest Victoria’s Secret catalog and proudly announced it was Pocahontas! Out of the mouths of babes?”
