Tichy On A Tear In Legion Play

West Valley Boosters shortstop Justin Tichy started on an American Legion baseball batting tear.

In four games for the 3-1 Boosters, Tichy had 10 hits, including a pair of three-hit games.

The summer league proved favorable to all four Valley teams.

Spokane Olympic Sports (University) handed WV its initial loss Monday, 8-4, four different players, including Steve Sander who scored twice and drove in two runs, getting two hits apiece.

Spokane Athletic Supply (Central Valley) won twice, Paul McLendon and Jason Buckenberger with two hits each against Washington Trust Bank, Eric Eigenhuis with a pair against the North Stars.

And East Valley Boosters won 9-1 on Steve Pipkin’s three-hitter, Tom Fox and Brock Rogers each doubling.
