Wargo Takes Early Lead In Dallas Senior Tourney With Host Of Birdies

Tom Wargo birdied four of his first five holes and tied a tournament record with a 6-under-par 64 to take the first-round lead Friday at the Dallas Reunion Senior PGA Pro Am golf tournament in Dallas.

Lee Trevino and Dave Eichelberger are two shots off the pace after opening rounds of 66 on the 6,579-yard, par-70 Oak Cliff Country Club course in the $600,000 tournament.

Dave Stockton, who has a first and a third to his credit in his previous three events, and Australian Graham Marsh are one stroke behind.

JoAnne Carner, bidding to become the oldest golfer to win an LPGA or PGA event, birdied three holes in a row to take a one-stroke lead after the second round of the Rochester International at Rochester, N.Y.
