Americans Top Japan 8-3 In Usa Baseball Tour

Matt LeCroy had three hits and three RBIs and Mark Roberts pitched seven strong innings as the United States beat Japan 8-3 in the Team USA Baseball tour. Team USA is 6-1-0.

LeCroy opened scoring with an RBI single in the first inning, and the Americans went ahead 5-0 with a four-run third, which included RBI doubles by LeCroy and Travis Lee. Roberts (1-0) allowed four hits and a run in seven innings.

LeCroy had a RBI double in the fourth, and College World Series MVP Mark Kotsay had an RBI single in the same inning to make it 7-0. Japan was led by Taisel Takagi, who had two hits, an RBI and a run scored.

Ken Kadokura (0-1) took the loss.
