Anne Fox Assistant Takes Lottery Job

From Staff And Wire Reports

Pat Reilly, a top assistant to State Schools Superintendent Anne Fox, announced Wednesday he’s leaving for a job with the Idaho Lottery Commission.

Reilly, since January director of communication for Fox, joined several other top officials of the department who have left.

Reilly will be public information officer under Lottery Director Dennis Jackson. The position has been vacant since Stephanie Hawkinson left when Gov. Phil Batt replaced former Lottery Director Wally Hedrick with Jackson.

“I accepted the position because it will give me the chance to utilize my management and marketing skills,” Reilly said in a prepared statement. Top officials of the agency couldn’t be reached for additional comment Wednesday afternoon.

Reilly will start his new job March 20.

The news release said Asa Ruyle, who works part-time for Fox as legislative liaison, will handle media contacts.

Fox was forced to dismiss her top assistant, Terry Haws, after it was disclosed he pleaded no contest to an Alaska charge of soliciting sex from a minor in exchange for drugs. Bill Stanley, who was to head a new division providing architectural services for school districts, also left after it was determined that education and experience claimed on his resume were falsified.
