Kent-Meridian To Meet Mountain View In Final

Associated Press

AAA tournament

Marcella Doxsee’s timing couldn’t have been better for the fifth-ranked Kent-Meridian girls.

Doxsee’s long 3-pointer from the right wing as the clock ran out gave the Royals a 40-37 victory over top-ranked Prairie (24-1) in the early girls’ semifinal Friday night.

Kent-Meridian (25-3), which plays Mountain View for the title at 7 tonight, almost waited too long.

With the score tied and time running out, Kristin Deal stole the ball, dribbled the length of the court, and then passed the ball out to Doxsee for the gamewinner.

Deal led Kent-Meridian with 14 points and Doxsee added 10.
