Seahawks, Linebacker Close To Deal

Tacoma News Tribune

Instead of gaining a receiver to accelerate the development of Rick Mirer, the Seahawks are close to signing a linebacker who tried to rearrange Mirer’s face.

Los Angeles Raiders outside linebacker Winston Moss is an Al Davis phone call away from joining the Seahawks. After coming close to an agreement on a threeyear contract worth more than $4.125 million Tuesday night, Moss and the Seahawks waited through the evening for Davis to accept monetary offer to buy out a first-right-of-refusal, which leaves him in limbo for 15 days..

Davis kept both parties wondering, but the week-old Torrance Small mystery will resolve itself today negatively for the Seahawks. New Orleans Saints coach Jim Mora told several people Tuesday that they will match the four-year, $5.5 million offer sheet he signed a week ago.
