Cause Of Death Remains Unknown

From Staff And Wire Reports

A forensic pathologist on Wednesday completed an autopsy on the body of man found in Wolf Lodge Creek.

The autopsy turned up no obvious cause of death, Kootenai County Sheriff’s officials said Wednesday.

Divers pulled the badly decomposed body of Timothy P. Williams, 39, of Athol from Wolf Lodge Creek on Sunday.

Williams had been missing since March, when he was supposed to show up in court. He had been charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.

Capt. Ben Wolfinger said the autopsy showed no signs that Williams had been shot or stabbed to death. The Idaho Forensic Lab will conduct more tests on tissue samples from the body to determine if drugs played a part in Williams’ death, Wolfinger said.

Detectives are still investigating Williams’ death as a homicide. Wolfinger said that is standard procedure when the cause of death is unknown.
