Showalter Visits Arizona

Buck Showalter, only days removed as manager of the New York Yankees, paid his first visit to the Arizona Diamondbacks, an expansion team that begins play in 1998.

He attended the Houston-Phoenix NBA game as guest of Suns president Jerry Colangelo, the Diamondbacks’ managing general partner.

Colangelo leaves today for an Eastern road trip with the Suns, but he said senior vice president Roland Hemond, Diamondbacks president Richard Dozer and general manager Joe Garagiola Jr. are to meet with Showalter during the day.
