Spokane Jews Working On Rabin Memorial

From Staff Reports

Jewish organizations in Spokane are participating in a nationwide drive to plant a grove of trees in memory of slain Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin.

Rabin was assassinated Nov. 4 as he left a peace rally in Tel Aviv.

The International Rabin Garden will be planted in Jerusalem by the Jewish National Fund. Cities across the country are raising money to purchase and plant the trees.

Helping organize the memorial drive is the Spokane Chapter of Hadassah, an organization of women volunteers.

Donations can be sent to Temple Beth Shalom, c/o Rabin Memorial Garden, 1322 E. 30th, Spokane 99203.
